Violin maker Georges Cunault was born in Paris on March 20, 1856, and died there in 1941. He studied under Sébastien Vuillaume and Miremont. In 1882, he establish oneself as a violin maker. He changed addresses five times in 13 years! His last address was Rue de Navarin in Paris. This violin is a beautiful instrument and bears the label "Georges Cunault - Luthier - 21, rue de Navarin, Paris" (1939). There is one well-repaired crack in the top below the lower eye of the f-hole, E-side. This does not affect the beautiful and balanced sound of the instrument in any way. It has a beautiful, balanced tone in all the strings, good volume and projection. A good instrument for both the professional musician and the advanced student and amateur.
