Frantisek. (François) Herclik was born on March 8, 1866, in Sedlek near Nové Benalky. He became a talented violinist and violin maker. After 20 years of work, he received the diploma of "master violin maker." A beautiful lutherie. In his early years, his varnish was somewhat dull in color, a spirit varnish. Later, he used brown oil varnish on a yellow base. He primarily copied Italian and Czech masters. He died on November 13, 1948, at the age of 82.
